Registration and Cost
The top three (one more than last year) finishers from each 2009-2010 rank (Tiger through 2nd year Webelos) during their 2010 Pack Pinewood Derbies that are registered with the Chesapeake District are invited to the 2010 Chesapeake District Pinewood Derby. To make sure the 2010 Pinewood Derby is successful, please register EARLY for this event. We suggest registering the top three Scouts in each rank as soon as your Pack Pinewood Derby is completed!!!
New for 2010!!! There will be an adults-only race with the 100th Anniversary Big Rigs at 2:50. You can now get these at the Scout Shop for $17.99. Rules for Big Rigs will be forthcoming.
Register Early!
Race Registrations should be postmarked to Dave Oshman by 04/05/2010 (download the flyer for registration form and mailing address information). They can be hand delivered at the District Roundtable through March 2010. The registration cost is $6.00 for each Cub Scout (up to fifteen per Pack) entered. Checks should be made payable to BAC-BSA. See website for Pack registration form.
The Pack's "Race Day Cubmaster" may make substitutions for absent registered participants at no cost but the substitute must race their own car.
Late Registration: Due to the manner in which participants are registered in the software, Race Registrations the day of the event will cost $12.00 per Cub Scout entered in the competitions.
Location
We have secured inside of Eastpoint Mall in front of Value City for our District Pinewood Derby. Please show up on time and keep in mind that parking may be difficult at a shopping mall.
Schedule
Cub Scouts need only be there during registration time and during their races except for the Top Three winners of each rank. After each rank completes racing, trophies will be given out for the fastest three cars. Once the races from their respective rank are over, Cubs can retrieve their car unless they have placed in the Top Three in their rank, in which case the cars stay in “impound” until the Grand Finals are over. Each rank Top Three winners need to be present for the Grand Finals at 3:00PM.
