Happy 100th Anniversary of World Scouting!
Dear Scouters,
Our prayers are with the families of the four Scouts tragically killed in the tornado at a Boy Scout Camp in western Iowa. Our sincere thoughts are also with the Mid America Council Scouting family and all families impacted by the devastating events. Please keep all of the victims and their loved ones in your prayers in the weeks ahead.
Thank you to those who have called and emailed me today offering assistance. I understand that those offering help may contact the Council website at www.mac-bsa.org. We in the Baltimore Area Scouting community will also reach out offering support and help very soon.
Yours in Scouting,
Ethan Draddy
Scout Executive

Boy Scouts' actions after tornado called heroic
Chesapeake District,
Congratulations on another great FOS campaign. We (and by we I mean you) have reach 100% of our FOS goal. And we hit it at the end of May. What a great effort was pushed out right at the end of the month to close this campaign strong.
As we prepare for our District Recognition Dinner, the Key 3 are NOT going to hold District Commissioners or District Committee meetings this week. We will see you all at the Recognition Dinner. The District Committee training will be held in August. This is typically for the new Committee members, but it is always a good refresher for some of our "more seasoned" volunteers as well.
Again, congratulations to you all. I can't wait to see the Chessie Patch Design for next years FOS.
